I saw this and it added to my confusion about the version level
currently available. I thought: why explain how to install w/o .NET
if v3.5 isn't even available on the website...

Here's an interesting twist on (OT) stuff. People who want to test
CDBurnerXP's beta (or earlier) "must donate." I've seen plenty of the
opposite situation: free pre-release, final payware but this? Are there
other examples of this?

Anyway, v3.5 prerelease *is* available in exchange for a donation.
Production versions continue to be free (as in beer).

Ingenuity to make some money maybe?
