Decrypt restored fles

I just reinstalled XP Pro SP2 and I had backed up my drive using windows
backup. I had a few files encrypted using XP's built in encryption, and
now I can't open these files, I get "Access is denied!". Any idea how I
can get to these files?

Without the key or a recovery agent you are out of luck!

Did you also back up the necessary keys?
They can not be recreated.
