I think I fell for an internet hoax that told people to delete a file that is
a necessary file to run java. I get this message every time I start the
computer and my computer starts up very sloooooooooooooow.
NotifyAlert.exe-Common Language Runtime application has generated an
exception that could not be handled.............etc.
On the microsoft tech help it says that if you are not using Visual you
don't have to worry about it. I have checked my add/remove software and it
doesn't appear that I have it. I did have it at one time, but I removed it
because it seemed to make my system too slow.
What should I do? I have ignored this issue for too long.

Thanks for the reply. I did try to reinstall the .net framework, but
unfortunately, I couldn't remember where I installed it from in the first
place. I have noticed in some of the other threads people have mentioned
this same problem and they were able to solve it by deleting the dell
support. I think I deleted that a year or 2 ago and it doesn't show up in
my add/remove programs file. I have even paid microsoft to fix this for me
and after 2 days of trying various things, they want me to restore my
computer to factory. I could have done that myself without paying the 59
dollars, so I think I will have to fire them. Any more advice?
