Does anyone know how to debug applications using emulators?

Don't you mean that the other way around? You want to debug the
emulator, right? Ultimately, the emulator is the application, no?

You need to provide more details, are you trying to debug the emulator or
are you running an app inside an emulator (like a PPC or a smartphone)
