Dead server

I had domain controller die on me wich was NOT the
operations master. My operations master keeps wanting to
replicate with it. How do i remove the dead server from my
domain.

Peter,

Use ntdsutil to remove it from the AD, use adsiedit to clean things up in AD
and make sure to remove all references in DNS that *m i g h t* still be
lingering.

Also, make sure that the remaining DC is a Global Catalog Server, that it
does indeed hold all five of the fsmo roles and that it is running all of
the services that the 'duely departed' DC was running! If using DHCP you
might want to make any necessary configuration changes there so that the
clients will have 'updated' information.
