how to remove child domain record?

The child domain's harddisk was dead...

After I installed a new win2k server, want to setup a new child domain, it
fails...
nomatter the same name as before or not.

how can I remove the died child domain from the main domain controller.

You have to use Metadata cleanup (NTDSUTIL). I don;t believe Microsoft has
any info for this on their website but try this link out.
