Hi,

Have just built my brothers budget system and it doesn't work.

System is,

AMD Dual Core 2.4Ghz
2GB OCZ Gold RAM @ 800mhz
MSI K9N6GM Motherboard
Nvidia 8400 512Mb,
250Gb Seagate Barracuda SATA
Liteon Lightscribe SATA
650 Watt PSU

The heatsink spins, so do the other fans
The DVD and HDD spin also.
I cannot get a response from the monitor, also i don't here any beeps to tell me it has passed post.
everything is brand new, have swapped out the RAM in my PC and its fine, HDD is also fine, only i can't check is CPU.

Do the usual, make sure memory and video cards are seated firmly.

Disconnect Hard drive and Optical drive, try for a POST.

Take motherboard out of case, lay on insulated service, connect all relevant devices and try for a POST.

If possible try substitute video card.

Yeah has definetly got to be the motherboard, i got my mate to come over with 2 PCs and we swapped all the bits over and the only time it won't work is when it has that motherboard in it.

Oh well have never had a faulty component or any other serious problem, so i guess i was due.

thanks for the help though.
