Dead Desktop Icon

I recently set up a new user (win XP professional). On the desktop
there is a "Dead Icon" which does not apear on the other user desktop.
I cant delete it and it is not linked to any thing. How can I get
ride of it?

New information.
The Dead Icon relates to "Quick Install for Palm"
The new user is not using a Palm . The other users are using Palm.
I still want to delete it if I can.

Have you right-clicked it to look at its properties?
If it has properties, what are they?

Right clicking the icon yields no properties.
