Turning off virtual memory will make your computer run slower, not
faster.

With virtual memory disabled Windows must allocate RAM for the full
amount of all memory allocation requests that are issued by Windows
components, device drivers, application programs, etc.

With the page file(s) enabled Windows is able to map the unused
portions of these requests (which can easily aggregate to several
hundred megabytes) to locations in the page file, thereby allowing RAM
only to be allocated to the portions that are actually used.

Best performance is obtained by having a page file on each physical
hard drive, which allows Windows to select the page file that is
optimal for each individual paging operation. Note that it is *not*
advisable to have more than one page file on the same physical hard
drive, even if that one drive is divided into two or more separate
partitions each with its own drive letter.

Good luck

Well in this case, Ash 'who dares, looses'. Turning off virtual memory is
definately a No No! You will only make matters worse, not better.

If the pc is running slow run your anti virus software and then run a
spyware/malware application such as Ad-Aware, Spybot search and destroy,
Microsoft defender. You might also consider defragmenting the hard drive.
