DDR RAM Upgrade

I am wanting to add more RAM to my computer and so need to determine what
model of computer I have?

The handbook which came with the computer does not actually say, as it is
one handbook across several models.

The make is Medion if that helps and it is an Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU
2.80GHz.

The information that you provide doesn't do much to define the memory spec.

I suggest that you download a freeware tool. One of them is SiSoft Sandra
(http://www.sisoftware.net/). That'll tell you the type of memory (DDR,
DDR2, or Rambus memory), and its operating frequency. Belarc Advisor is
popular, but I'm not familiar with it.

It may also tell you the make & model of your mainboard. With that, you can
go to www.crucial.com and see what sort of RAM is available for your PC.
Medion isn't one of the large manufacturers, but Crucial lists them. (Scroll
down to the "more manufacturers" at the bottom of the list. That'll bring up
a longer list that includes Medion.)

Surely you can't expect us to know what model computer you have? We
can't see it. Consult your computer's or motherboard's manual or the
manufacturer's web site for specific instructions and compatibility
requirements.

If you cannot lay your hands upon the computer's manual and the
manufacturer doesn't provide a support web site, you can use these
utilities to help determine the correct type of RAM needed:

Your suggestion of www.crucial.com provided a tool on their website to
determine the details I required automatically and suggested the types of
compatible RAM I needed and I have now placed an order with them.

Strangely enough it did not correctly identify the make as Medion, but I
assume that Medion has installed another manufacturer's motherboard.
