dcpromote when DC can't communicate with AC

I have a DC I am trying to demote, but it will not
communicate with the Active Directory. It will not
authenicate to it. What can I do?

Again, the box thinks its a DC, but does not exist in
Active Directory.

you must be more specific on the errors you are getting. For example run
dcdiag /v and netdiag /v to get some more info. You can try to
use -forceremoval switch in dcpromo to force DC removal (aplies so SP4). See
