DB opening as read-only to some

Hello,

We have a database that has not been modified or played around with and all
of a sudden it is opening as "read-only" to some people in our company, but
not all. We have checked the database properties and it's not checked to
read-only, we've checked all users, no one has it open, we're stuck.

It's working just fine for some of us, but others it's opening as read-only!

Any suggestions?!

Thank you in advance for any help!

Do all the users have sufficient permissions on the folder where the
database is located? They need a minimum of Read and Write (even if they
only want to open the database as read-only), and usually should have Delete
as well.

Hi Doug,

Thank you for your response! Yes, all users have sufficient permissions!
That's one area we've never played with so we all have the same! It was
working fine last week for everyone, just this week it's decided it doesn't
like some people!!

Can you narrow it done to specific individuals. In other words, is it always
person A who has a problem, or is it always the case that some people have
problems if person B has opened it first, or something else like that?

Doug - Thank you for your help with this - I think we've figured it out - it
looks like some people have complete folders marked as read-only - I should
have checked that first! If that's not the fix I'll be back to bug you I'm
sure!!! Thank you again!
