DB opening read only

Both my front end and back end databases are opening in read only. I created
them using 2003. 2003 is standard here and I thought on all the computers
and I have 2007. The BE database is showing that it's running in 2000 file
format. Is there a reason for this? I can't find any other reason it isn't
working. I have permissions to do everything so is it related to the file
format being 2000? Also 'read only' is unchecked in the files and in the
folder it is green marking it but not checking it. I believe it means
something is read only but not everything? Thanks!

it sounds like your 07 version of Access does not yet have its 'trusted
locations' set up. if this generates a "huh??"...then it is probably the
case. In help just read & follow the instructions. Ironically there is no
default for its own installed location to be trusted.

If you definitely have set up trusted locations - then I'm as baffled as
you.....
