Well what is going to happen with the change in daylight savings time.
I think the government changed it to about 3 weeks ahead of the old spot.
What about all the servers out there? Is MS working on a patch or does it
make a difference.

I believe that it's already been patched.

thanks never got it with auto update but I have it now

You're welcome. It's an optional update, not (yet) available via the
Microsoft update site.

This may be also be applicable for Outlook
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931667

Note: only install the above ***after*** installing the Windows Time Zone Update and DST updates
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=928388
and
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=931836

KB931667 get's my vote for one of the lengthiest kb's in recent history<g>

This is all crap; SEC, etc regulations require that all documents be
kept forever with timestamps, etc.
Well, i just got a note at 11:48PM loco ordinary time and now it is
DST and i am responding too late.
Oops! now i have another at 11:40PM DST and now i am responding
before i got it because it is now ordinary time.
Oh, one email set was during the "old" rules and the latest set is
with the "new" rules.
Maybe they need to be in a database, linked to these variable rules
by date.
Like i said, real crap.

Forget that shit and enforce real time that does not fart around:
Greenwich time; all files have dates and times based on the universal
time standard and to hell with the politicians!

d-d-, this engineer thanks you<g>.

- I noticed that too..though even with 931836 installed, as of Feb 9, MU was still offering 928388 thus the suggestion to follow released order. 929120 wasn't referenced since the date for those primarily impacted has already past.

- 931667 still needs to be installed after 931836

The update is available through windows update in XP. Its not considered a
"critical" update, that' why most people never see it with the auto update.
Auto update only reviews and makes available the "critical" updates.

Be sure not to install the Western Australia time zone update if not living
there.

Hi, Installed 928388 already on my computers. Do I also have to
install KB931836?

Thanks!

Why is the U.S. still switching their clocks by an hour twice a year?
This is not a farming society (anymore). This outdated practice just
causes many problems with computers and also with people.
It's painful to have to wake up an hour earlier just so that at
bedtime the kids can't go to sleep because there is full sunlight
coming in through the windows.

Most people are in an office or at school most of the day so we'll be
using artificial light regardless of the clock. For those who work
outside in the northern hemisphere, they're getting longer days
already in the summer without having to change the clock.

So, really nobody wins - Daylight Savings Time should be abolished!
Especially "Spring forward" ... we can do one more "Fall back" to get
an extra hour of sleep and then leave the clocks alone. Is there a
political group or grassroots organization I can join or send money to
get this change in the Constitution?

More problems caused by DST:

DST in Mexico is even sillier. There isn't that much difference in the
length of days from summer to winter anyway.

What kind of Morons are you?
To be posting this kind of trash way off topic, as usual people are showing
they only care about themselves!
