date will not change

Newly built system using Windows XP Pro...date will not
change when computer is turned off. Is this a software
problem or CMOS battery? After computer date is set each
day, time, etc. works perfectly. Any suggestions?
 
Sounds like it might be the battery. Try unpluging the
system and see if the clock resets to the release date of
your systems bios.
