Every time I start up my computer the date and time read
january 1 1988- I have to reset it every time I turn it
on. I have set it up in the biaos many times and it stays
ok untill I turn my computer off.If i leave it on for
days it stays accurate, but as soon as I shut it down and
re-boot it goes back to 1988. This causes many problems
including if i do not reset the time all programming
installed after 1988 does not get recongised Can you help
me

FYI - No one is going to respond to your via your personal email. Folks
here generally don't do that. Why not let everyone share in the answer.

Also, because you have posted your real email address, rather than a spambot
blocked email address (i.e. (e-mail address removed)), your email
address will probably be picked up by spam bots and you can expect to be
receiving a lot more spam because of it.

Change/replace the CMOS BIOS battery. This keeps the computer config (RAM,
cache, hard drive parameters and DATE/TIME) when the computer is powered
off. Date and Time lost usually tells technicians that the battery is
weak/bad/dead.
