Time and date

Every time I start up my PC the date and time resets to 1st January 2002.
This is a new problem, only noticed it in the last few days. Does anyone know
what may cause this and how to fix it?

You probably need to replace the battery on the motherboard.
Check the motherboard manual if you cannot find it.

Most likely caused by a weak CMOS battery located at your mainboard.
Replace that battery according to the computer's manual or take it to
a technician/repair shop. Not a Windows issue anyway.
