How can I insert a field on each slide in a presentation that records the
date when that particular slide was modified? (Not the same date for the
entire presentation.)

You have to do it manually - add a text box that you can add the date to or
come up with some other similar way of doing it.

Or you could create a macro that stores the current date/time in a tag on the
slide (ie, a bit of invisibly stored data), but you'd still need to trigger the
macro manually.
