Hi,

I have a database in MS Access 97 that i want to export data into Excel
to produce graphs. The date apear as DD/MM/YYYY but i want it to show
i.e 27-Jan-2005 to enable me to sort in date order. When i right click
and format cells it says that the date format is already in the format
that i want, but this is not the case. I have discovered that if i
double click on the cell the DD/MM/YYYY format changes to the format.
This is going to be very time consuming as i have thousands of rows to
format.

Anyone any ideas how to over come this problem.

Thanks

Fiona

Copy your ACCESS "table," "query" or whatever has the data you want
Then when you do a Paste into EXCEL do a "PASTE" - "SPECIAL" and the
Select "TEXT." Then you should be able to select your EXCEL column an
then change the format to what you want
