date and time

Nikki

I'm trying to do a presentation with the current time (ie 8:45 am) in the
bottom left hand corner; the current date (ie January 20, 2009) in the bottom
centre, and military time (ie 15:30) in the bottom left corner. I had all
this set up but it doesn't keep current time. I've down loaded
AutoDateTime23.exe, but still can't get it to work. HELP!

AutoDateTime add-in looks for the <date/time> placeholder on the master
slide and updates that with the current date-time in the format you specify.
In your case, you would need to do the following:
M1. Select "View" | "Master" | "Slide Master" menu item to view the slide
master.
M2. Stretch the date/time placeholder to occupy the entire row.
M3. Show the ruler through "View" | "Ruler" menu item.
M4. Select the text inside the date/time placeholder.
M5. Place a "center-align" tick-mark at the center of the horizontal ruler.
M6. Place a "right-align" tick-mark at the right of the horizontal ruler.
M7. Click "Close Master View" button in "Slide Master View" toolbar to
return back to your normal view.

We have so far configured the date/time placeholder to show 3 items - a
left-align item, a center-align item in the center and a right-align item at
the right. These are separated by tabs. We now have to configure
AutoDateTime to place these tabs so that the date and time occupy their
right places:
1. Select "Format" | "AutoDateTime..." menu item.
2. Place a check against "Enable AutoDateTime" box.
3. Place the following text in the "Date/Time Format" box:
$HH:$MM $AMPM $MONTHNAME $DAY, $YEAR $MILHH:$MM

After $AM$PM, there is a tab inserted using Ctrl+Tab key combination. There
is also a tab inserted similarly between $YEAR and $MILHH.

Now when you start the slide show, AutoDateTime will update the date/time
placeholder. Ensure that you have the date/time placeholder visible:
1. Select "Insert" | "Date and Time..." menu item.
2. On the "Slide" tab, place a check against "Date and time" box.
3. Click "Apply to All" button for showing date/time placeholder on all
slides.

Note that there could be multiple slide masters. You would perform the steps
M1-M7 for all slide masters where you want the corresponding slides to show
the date/time in that format.
