Has anyone came across this type of error when trying to open up their
MSAccess Database.

" The Microsoft Jet Database Engine could not find the object "Databases' "

I've a very important presentation this morning and now don't know how to
correct this problem.

Please Help

Will Access open up without specifying a particular database. Go to the Start
button, Programs, Microsoft Office, Access?

If so try selecting the database in question there. Does the database open
properly or give you an error?

If it gives you an error message, try opening up another Access database to
see if there's a problem. If the other database opens cleanly, then your
problem database is probably corrupt.

At times like this, nothing beats a good backup. In fact make a complete
backup of your database now and put it away for safe keeping.

Tony Toews has an excellent web page on database corruption.

Allen Brown also has excellent info on corruption.

I have a white paper in a Word document named Fix Corrupt Access Database
towards the bottom this page:

Seems like I'm Screwed.

I tried opening from a new database - same error.

Tried changing from Version 2003 to 2000 - same error

Last Night I made 4 working Backup copies - everyone of them has the same
problem.
( I know as a fact that they are working )

The only thing I did was to copy the files to my thumb drive and copied it
back
to my local computer at another location. -

I sent an invitation to 4 department to view this new application today.

In all the years of developing I never seen this type of error.

Just a quick thing to be aware of -

You may have done this, but ALWAYS use the SAFELY REMOVE HARDWARE button
when using a flash drive. Failure to do so can corrupt your files. If you
didn't remove your flash drive this way, then that might have been the cause
of the corruption.

It's also possible that it wasn't, but something to be aware of.

I went back to the source where I had the database and everything worked
fine.

I noticed that the difference between where it came from and where it was
going was the
the Default File Format on the Source was Access 2000 and the Destination
was Access 2002-2003.
I changed the Source Default File Format on the Source and proceeded to copy
as before.

There was no corruption and was able to open and run the program without a
hitch.

"Strange" - No wonder all the other version copies from the Source were also
corrupted .

I was nevertheless relieved that I was able to get back on track - minus
some lost time.

Thanks for your response.
