I have a database on a server that is accessed by multiple people. I have a
specific computer that seems to only take exclusive rights to the database.
When on that computer, if multiple other people are in database it won't let
you open up the shortcut because it needs exclusive rights. The error
message that states this stays up, even though you click OK. Eventually, the
user has to ControlAltDelete to get the window and error message to
disappear, which then makes it so that the lock on the database will never
release. Is there a default that states to only open the database in design
(or exclusive) mode. I've checked the advanced settings and I didn't see any
difference between machines. Most are running Office 2003, as well as this
specific machine that is causing the problems.
