Database files automatically created

I have a user that says that every time she opens and closes her databases it
creates another database in the folder called database1.mdb, database2.mdb,
etc. These databases are of various sizes and are smaller than the original.
She is running Access 2007 on Vista but the databases are Access 2000
format. Has anyone ever seen anything like this??

Check the following:

Is the compact on close option checked on her pc (in Access) if so uncheck
this option.
Does the person have the approrpiate rights on the directory...

most of the times the first option is the bad guy...

That solved the problem, however the user does want the database compacted.
She does have proper permissions to the directory. We will look at other
alternatives.
