database entries

In the last couple weeks we have noticed that we are
losing entries somewhere...one day there are 10,000
entries in the database and the next day there are only
9700. Does anyone know why this might be happening? Is
there a way to filter a comparison of the 2 tables to see
which entries we are losing?

This sounds like a corrupted index.
