Database content not displayed

To all:

I am running Windows XP Professional and I have installed IIS on my
computer. I am using FP2003 and Access 2003. I have written a page that
draws on a query in Access. It has an .asp file extension. When I go to
view it in the browser, it displays the following message:

"The Database Results component on this page is unable to display database
content. The page must have a filename ending in '.asp', and the web must be
hosted on a server that supports Active Server Pages."

Thoughts?

Thomas,

No, right now I am viewing the page through
C:\Documents and Settings\dough\My Documents\Database
Project\Webpages\test.asp

Thomas,

I tried running it from:

http://localhost/Database/test2.asp

But, it tells me "You are not authorized to view this page
You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the
credentials you supplied.
HTTP 401.3 - Access denied by ACL on resource
Internet Information Services"

Does that tell you anything?

Thanks for your help!

Ok, open your site in FP using File Menu | Open Site and enter http://localhost, then once open
double click to open the Database subweb/subsite, then import your database, create a connection
name and let FP move the database to the fpdb folder, then try testing your page using File Menu |
Preview in Browser.

Thomas,
I have imported the database through the File|Import menu. I even adjusted
the settings "web settings" when I right click on the database.

Still not authorized to view the page.

Open IIS MMC, then default web, then the specific web site, the under the home directory, make sure
the application is set to the name of the subweb.

Thomas,

I had to give myself permission in the "database" virutal directory. Now i
have permission to view the page but now it shows the field names (Project
Name, Start Date, etc) in a table format but below it says:

"Database Results Wizard Error
The operation failed. If this continues, please contact your server
administrator."

I think we are getting there!

With the site open in FP, Web / site settings, version 4 - 2000, version 5 = 2002

Ok, then go to Admin Tools | SIIS MMC | Right click on the default web | All Tasks | Check Server
Extensions 2002 | Look for Server Health Check function and check all boxes to allow FP to repair
the permissions, etc.

Thomas,

The only selection I have is "Permissions Wizard...".

I don't have a "Check Server Extensions 2002" Option.
