Hello,

isn't it possible to open an Access database by user B, when user A
has the same database open already?
Is it possible to set the properties so this can be done or rather to
prevent this possibility?

Thanks,
Norbert

I believe this is the default setting for Access. As long as all users have
full access to the folder in which the database lives, they should be able
to share the file.

The answers to all your questions are yes. There are many different
approaches to sharing. Which one will work best in your environment will
depend on your needs.

Generally you would use a split database and may want to include user
level security to control access.

Look at the following topics in the help file for additional information

Security (user level)
passwords
split (database)
open exclusively
Shared
record locking

Thanks very much.
Problem is sorted out.
The user's rights were not "full" but only "read".

Regards,
Norbert
