Running windows xp professional. We have 4 user accounts and one of the four
is named Administrator. Each account has a Destop folder. My question is
this. Is the data within the 4 different desktop folders duplicated on the
hard drive, using more space on the hard drive?

All users desktops share common files, some users will also show common
icons, but the size of hd usage is minimal for just a shortcut, if your
concerned about space taken up on the HD, then get a larger HD. they are
cheap these days.

Some is. Some isn't. Some might be.

All of the desktop folders exist on the hard disk. If you look in each
folder, you'll see the contents.

Each will have data that is unique to the account, all will share some data.
