Data Recovery

Have a desktop that no longer boots. Is there a way to recover data i.e.
PST, OST,etc other than simply searching for "*.PST and *.OST". Is there
recovery app for this? We currently have Office 2003 & XP. Guidance sought

It depends on why the desktop "no longer boots." If the hard drive is not
the problem, you can put it in another machine and recover the files fairly
easily. If the hard drive has failed, depending on how it has failed, you
may still recover the files on another computer, or there are places you can
send the drive that remove the platters and recover that way, but that can be
expensive.

A USB hard drive enclosure (quite inexpensive) often works in place of
sending a failed drive out. It somehow sees the drive differently because of
the USB connection than putting it into another PC or slaving it, even if the
drive has failed.
