Hi Folks,

I am new to MS Access, was using Lotus Approach before. I want to
center justify data in a column in a data table in Access. I can find
no way to do this or find anything in the help section. Any
suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Malcolm

AFAIK, you can't. use a form to display your data, where you'll have more
control of formatting elements.

I agree with Tina's response. Datasheet view is very limited regarding
formatting.
You can create a form that essentially looks like a datasheet.

Re: Justification... check out Stephen Leban's site...

If the data in your justified column is of widely varying lengths, full
justification might have create a bit of a readability issue, but... that's
your choice.

You don't do that in a table. A table should be considered little more
than a bucket in which to store data.

Just to clarify for the original poster: I think Tina meant "can" rather
than "can't" ... and Al read Tina's post a little bit too quickly.

Van,
Hmmm... I'm a bit puzzled by your comment.

Regarding fully justified text controls in "a column in a data table in
Access."
Tina wrote...
AFAIK, you can't. (referring to datasheet view)

I agree with that. Am I mistaken on that point?

well, no, i meant "can't", as in: AFAIK, you *can't* (cannot) center data
in a column of a table.

Sorry, ladies & gents.

I didn't see the full stop (my eyes are not that good) and you didn't
capitalise the start of the new sentence and so I read as:

"AFAIK, you can't use a form to display your data, where you'll have more
control of formatting elements."

In this case, "can" makes more sense.

It looks like the 17'' monitor is getting too small for my viewing ...

Thanks for all the input. I now realize that you cannot center data in
a table column. I will look at using a form for viewing data. I
appreciate the comments.

Thanks

Malcolm
