Center Justified Text Box

It seems to me that back in the good old days (before Office 2007), when I
created a center-justified text box the text would center-justify as I typed,
allowing me to place the center of the box where I wanted it to be.

Now, the box acts as if it were left-justified, expanding to the right while
I type and only becomes center-justified when I hit the RETURN. This doesn't
seem right.

Or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance

Hmmmm. Odd. I can't repro that here - particularly not the hitting return as
that gives me a new line. Could you take me through your exact steps? And
how is the formatting of the text box set (right click -> format shape ->
text box)?

Oh and just for completeness do you have SP1 installed and a local printer
driver?

Lucy --

Thanks, but I can't get it NOT to to do that.

Using PPT 2007, insert a text box, go back to the menu, select center
justified, then type. Text extends to the right until I hit ENTER, which
gives me a line feed. Next lin and subsequent typing is center justified.

BTW, I really hate OFFICE 2007.

Hi Jim

OK let's do some general display troubleshooting then:

1. Office 2007 relies heavily on printer drivers so try this one we now
works and see how you get on:

2. See if there is an update available for your graphics card
3. Play with hardware acceleration:

On a different note, why do you hate 2007? I must admit it frustrated the
hell out of me when I first started using it but now I quite like it.
Sometimes. I certainly miss some of the features (especially live preview)
when I use 2003...
