dark display after XP service pack install

Downloaded & installed XP Service pack and screen colors
turned up very dark. Can't adjust contrast or brightness
to compensate. Some info bars are unreadable. Has anyone
else encountered this problem?

No. :)

But you might try switching monitors to make sure it was
something in the service pack and not the monitor or video
card.
