Damn, how to fix volume so it stays to one level???

It's a good thing I'm off today because my alarm program played but I
never heard it. I've had this trouble _all_ week. I'm really fed up
with how XP doesn't keep a steady volume.

Where do we, once and for all, control that pls, pls, pls???? In
Win98SE, I'd set the sliders for the master volume and WAV volume and
they then NEVER MOVED!!! No matter what I do there in XP, it chooses
to go where it wants to. I don't want to go back to using a regular
clock radio. For years I've hated how when I forget to turn it off
Friday night, a regular occurrence <g>, that I'm woken up at 5:30 a.m.
Saturday mornings!!

Pls help. I really need to fix this one.

Still having this problem. No one answered but fortunately I found a
workaround to this XP weakness. I dl the latest version of my player
just on a the offhand chance that something could be done and in the
options, it had surprisingly has 3 options for volume control (which
it never had before!). I played with each one until I found one that
works. So my player overcomes this XP glitch which in the end is what
counts.

p.s., the app that does this is CoolPlayer.
