I'm by no means a computer expert. I know how to install, etc. (Just so you
know who you're dealing with!)

I installed a new version of a D Link wireless router on my sons computer.
It wouldn't take the install CD, so I had to download a driver from
Microsoft. The D Link works just fine on every other computer in the house
but he is the only one with Windows 'Vista'. The computer just keeps shutting
down now. I can't get anything to work. Help???

Thanks!

You are going to have to describe things a lot better than that.

Try System Restore first of all, to see if you can restore the computer to
how it was before this started happening.

You have a very strange way of installing a Wireless Network!
Then again, I know who I am dealing with, lol.

You don't have to install a router. Just hooking it up either by hardwire or
wireless connection is enough.

Is the computer hard wired or wireless to the router. If wireless, what
brand and type of wireless adapter have you got running in Vista?

I have a computer running XP that flatly refuses to work for more than a day
on a D-Link wireless adapter. It does not like the motherboard at all, yet
the same adapter in my Vista machine works flawlessly.
