D-Link DWL-G650 stops working with Microsoft Driver Update

Oliver

D-Link DWL-G650 wireless card in Windows 2000 pro or
server stops allowing access for the D-Link software and
tray icon (ver 2.20 & 2.35) after updating computer with
Microsoft Driver Update for D-Link.

Uninstalling all microsoft updates does not correct.
Uninstalling / Re-installing all D-Link hardware and
software does not correct the matter. Does anyone know
how to resolve? Removing all D-link Micorsfot updates?
Controlling the card encryption through Micorsoft?

Thanks

When I had same problem, found that the SSID and WEP were reset to
defaults. Resetting them got me back in business.

Don't update drivers from Windows Update - they generally cause problems.
All driver updates should be gotten from the hw manufacturer. If the other
reply doesn't help you, go to the DLink website, get the driver, go to
device manager and reinstall the driver.
