D:\ is not accessible

When I try to access the D drive on my IBM Laptop Y42 I get a message that
D:\ is not accessible - is this a Windowx XP thing or a hardware issue with
my laptop?

What is/was your D Drive?? If it is a CD Rom, you can only acesss it if
their is a CD Rom Disc in it.
