D drive has "bad block" help?

R

Rose

My CD drive has been acting up for a while. I've tried to
uninstall then re-install it which has worked in the
past.

"The device, \Device\CdRom0, has a bad block."

This is not a newly installed drive and I have tried lots
of cds, different users, etc etc. Drive is non-responsive
and does not seem to read CDs at all despite recognising
that they are there (ie. it knows when you put one in).

How can i convince my D drive that it has something to
live for?

Please email at (e-mail address removed) and put my
computer out of its misery.

Thankyou,
rose

Since the drive is old, why not consider replacing it. Most CD ROM drives
are under $100.00 and some are @ $70.00.
