Cut and Paste-Word

Tipsey's mom

On my toolbar the cut and paste icons are not bright like the other icons.
Can you tell me why? I can't sut and paste at all. What do I need to do?

Cut and Copy are not enabled until something is selected. Paste is not
enabled until something has been cut or copied.
