Cut and Paste problem

Hi at all,
i have a problem with win2000. When i right click on a file and i want to
copy it to another folder the "paste" item is grayed. There is no problem
about writing permissions or disk space or similar.
Why?

Let me make sure I understand your problem.

You right click on a file or folder and choose "Copy" from the menu.
You then right click on a destination folder and the "Paste" option is
grayed out.

Is this correct?

I have the same cut & paste problem
When I hi-light any text and right click - the copy option is greyed out. I also cannot go to the menu & select copy, I also cannot <ctrl> C and copy that way. I can highlight and delete though. But no matter what I do, I can't copy & paste
I recently wiped the entire machine and reinstalled windows 2000 - still have this proble
