Customizing File, Open view

Hi,

I like to open documents in any software the same way.
That is, when you click on Open (let's say in Word), the
window opens bu displays the files by name and type,
etc. It's easier and faster for me to view these by
saved dates instead of having to scroll to look at the
dates and names. Is there a way to make windows remember
that preference when opening a directory and looking at
its content?

Select your desired view, then click on Tools>>Folder Options>>View
tab>>"Apply to all folders"
