I have a Win XP client PC that I can not customize the properties of any
folders to display the "Pictures" options.

Basically, there are no options in properties to display the files as a
slideshow, email pictures, etc.

How can I access different folder options and choose between pictures,
regular files, etc.?

Except for system folders, you should have a 'Customize' tab when you view the properties dialog for a folder (right-click on folder -> Properties). There is an option there to select a template for the folder. Do you have this option?

Picture tasks such as 'slideshow', etc. are available in the 'Common Tasks' pane. If you're using 'Windows classic' folders (Folder Options dialog -> 'General' tab), these will not be available.

If the tasks aren't working or aren't visible, try the following;

Start -> Run -> regsvr32 /i shimgvw.dll

Good Luck,
Keith
