Custom Views....

Hi,

I have a sheet (sheet1)containing 20 columns and 1000 rows.
The data sheet1 is used for different reporting purpose. for different
reporting I have to hide and unhide some columns & rows and have
to change the Heading of report. Is it somehow possible to customized
these different views so I can easily switch to the desired view.....???
I have tried CUSTOM VIEW option but not working properly...
thanx for your prompt reply...

I think you'll have to say what wasn't working right in View|custom view to get
a good response.

(It worked fine in my little tests.)

But another alternative is to just create macros that do what you want. Then
have the user run the macro of their choice to show the data the way you want.

Your sheet is probably protected.

Custom views cannot be used on protected sheets.

If you can live with unprotected sheets, post back with any questions,
otherwise you'll need code.

I applied two custom views. One showing all column
and other hiding some columns. When I click on cusotm
view a prompt appear reading..
"Some view setting could not be applied"

I cannot duplicate your problem without protecting the sheet.

Could there be some underlying code perhaps.

BTW, could you correct your system date.
It's slightly behind the times!

Nope!!! my sheet is not protected. However
I tried custom view in a new sheet with fewer
columns and data ... it worked there....!!!

Any comments....
