For some reason I'm having a problem where after I finish customizing
a folder to view as a picture, music or video folder other unrelated
folders are also changed to the same view style. And when I change
those folders back to a normal view then the previous folder's view
gets changed back to normal view. Sometimes this happens where the
root of my hard drive's partitions (I have them as C: and D: on the
same drive) gets changed to the same custom view and since there's no
way of changing the roots back to normal view I have to go into Folder
Options>View tab and reset all the folders to their default settings
either by setting a misc folder to normal view and clicking the [Apply
to All Folders] button or just pressing the [Reset All Folders]
button.
Has anybody else run into this problem/glitch/bug? Is it a well known
problem? I haven't been able to find mention of it anywhere else. Some
people have suggested deleting any Desktop.ini files I can find. But
it still does this. Deleting the Desktop.ini files in either the C: or
D: partition don't do anything adverse to Windows XP anyway as I've
found out.
Since this is a problem that doesn't initiate the bug submition
feature, I'm just wondering if Microsoft is aware of it.
