Custom Toolbar

Andrea

I was just upgraded to word 2003. I want to create a custom toolbar which I
have been able to do, however every night when I log off the next morning my
custom toolbar is gone. Where is it going? How do I create it once and save
it?

'Was upgraded'? I take it this is a company machine? If toolbars are not
being retained it is probably because your normal.dot file is re-issued each
time you log into the network. You can only save toolbars if you can save
the template. You may be able to set Word to store the normal.dot file
locally on your workstation, but the chances are that your IT support will
have that one covered.

In most cases IT departments impose this sort of restriction to save them
work - when they are supposed to be supporting you. If this is indeed the
case you need to discuss it with your supervisor.

Word Table is Flickering!

So can you lock a customized toolbar to a newly created document template?
How about when you email it to someone, will they be able to see that
customized toolbar?

Save the custom toolbar in the template (or document) and not in the default
normal.dot (or move it using the Organizer).
