Presumably you mean a custom FOLDER? In Outlook do File-New-Folder. Create
the folder then set up rules to move emails to that folder.

Thanks Gordon, no I did not mean Folders. I really ment the "GROUP" function
in in the INBOX. Like an "inbox collection". I used a plugin for this
(Mailfiler) but it does not work for OL 2007 so I need to do it manually but
dont know how.

So what EXACTLY does (did) this plug-in do? What do you mean exactly by
"inbox collection"? Have you looked at all the ways you can view the Inbox
under the View menu item?

So what the plugin did was to allow me to GROUP the emails in my INBOX so I
could do a customized view of the INBOX, sorting on the GROUP.

All incoming emails is coming in into a GROUP called "Trusted Senders". I
can then select an email, push an icon called "Project A", as an example, and
the email gets categorized as "Project A" and is "moved" into that GROUP in
my Inbox.

Next email I might classify as "Read later" by pushing another icon. etc etc

The nice thing is that I can clean up my incoming emails quicker and file
them in folders later.

I do have a customized view of the GROUPS, ie my Inbox is now sorted
according to GROUPS but I dont know how I can assign a specific GROUP to an
email, I can't find that in the "Properties" of a specific email.

What version of Outlook? Have you looked at Flags?

It is Outlook 2007.

Flags might be one way, I will see if that works.

I just don't understand why I can't access the attribute "GROUP" of an email
message it is very strange ?? and I don't see where I can access the
attribute. Maybe it s only accessible through some kind of programmatic
interface and not from a "user" level.

Thanks for helping me Gordon !

You can do this by using categories and the "By Category" view.

Right-click a message and choose "Categories". Add the categories yoiu
wish.
