cursor problem

Hi all,
About ten minutes after turning on my computer my cursor moves across the
screen of its own accord, also if a web page is open and I place the cursor
on it the page will flash from small to larger font and vice versa very
quickly.
Have changed my mouse and ran a virus scan to no avail.
Help please.

Do you have a microphone? Turn it off.

Make sure that one or both of your Ctrl keys are NOT stuck down.

Try this.

Open Mouse Properties...
Start | Run | Type: main.cpl | Click OK |
Pointer Options tab | UNCheck: Automatically move pointer to the default
button in a dialog box | Click Apply | Click OK

Automatically move pointer to the default button in a dialog box
[[Specifies whether the mouse pointer snaps to the default button (such as
OK or Apply) in dialog boxes. In some programs, Snap To may cause the
pointer to automatically move to the center of the dialog box rather than to
the default button.]]

Show location of pointer when I press the CTRL key
[[Shows the location of the mouse pointer when you press the CTRL key. ]]

Hope this helps. Let us know.

If an optical mouse, place in on a dull, porous surface as opposed to a
shiny, smooth surface.
