Cursor problem

If I discontinue typing for longer than about 5 seconds my cursor disappears and I have to click to get it back
Does anyone know how to rectify this, it's really annoying

Go to START, Control panel, Mouse and check out your mouse options for
cursor on or off when typing. If that doesn't fix it then go to the Tools
menu, Options and check to make sure the cursor is not checked to disappear.
The options for your cursor are in the Tools menu of Word, Excel, Power
Point and Access.
