The DIS suite (Demon Internet Services), based on KA9Q. Not supported by
Demon for many years, but there is a small but expert group of people
who use it and improve it all the time: demon.ip.support.pc (you will
get flamed if you post anything Windows-oriented). I don't know whether
it's freeware, abandonware, or what. It's quite messy to set up and use,
particularly if you don't have a Demon account. I have long had a setup
which lets me handle mail and news, though I rarely use it. 100% virus-
proof (unless you save and open files). I don't know if it has been
adapted to use an ADSL connection, but would expect so.

I expect you'd get a friendly reception in dispc if you ask.

HTH,

don't if this fits your bill,

Arachne WWW Browser

Arachne is currently fullscreen graphical WWW browser which runs on DOS
compatible operating systems.

Distribution package for DOS includes freeware PPP dialer, WAV player,
etc. Utilities like MPEG video player, AVI/Quicktime/MPEG3 multimedia
player or TELNET client, as well as alternative fonts or "skins" can be
very easily downloaded as "Arachne packages"
