Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 7 for Windows XP(KB937143) will not install

I can't install this security update. I downloaded it with six other
updates, which have installed although I needed to deselect this update
in order to install four of them. I've tried uninstalling and
reinstalling the Windows installer. Is there anything else I can try,
such as rolling back to IE6, although I think it will probably still
need the update? Although I do not use IE7 I have applications that
require it to be installed.

Any suggestions, please.

Try asking here:
microsoft.public.windowsupdate

When you ask there include the failure code.

Select, Start, Help and Support, Keep your Windows up- to-date with
Windows Update, Review your Update History and click on the Failed
Icon (if any) in the Status Column. What does it say?
