ctrl-b not working

ctrl-bhas stopped working in various programs - word, firefox, etc. I'm not
sure when it happened as I don't use it that much. Apart from system restore
is there any way of fixing it? All the other shortcuts work fine.

CTRL+B would be application specific.

You mentioned two (Firefox and Word) - where the result would be completely
different.
CTRL+B in Firefox would bring up "Bookmarks" and CTRL+B in Word would "bold"
selected text or toggle the BOLD attribute.

In other words - unlesss you have changed something in a very unusual way -
I don't see it having a global effect.
