CTRL ALT DEL screen.

Well, I installed XP in my machine which is not part of a
domain yet. My problem is really interesting. I can't see
ctrl alt del screen. Now I went to control panel and
cleared the two options Use Welcome Screen and Use fast
user switching in THE WAY USER LOG OR OFF. Still I can't
see the screen which i have to press ctrl alt del. It
give user name and password screen like windows 98 does.

One of the article in microsoft web site says, Go into
Control panel and click on Advance, and check the option
that says, all user required to press ctrl alt del.

Well I don't have Advance option in user accounts. I can
see same screen in my other XP machine but not the one i
have having a problem. I already switched to classic view
but still i can't see that scree that gives me advance
option.

How do i resolve the problem?
Does computer have to be part in domain?

Any help will be much appreciated.

This is an error in the Help and Support documentation. Click Start, Run
and enter CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2 This is where you'll find the Advanced
tab. You can also set this option in the Group Policy Editor (GPEDIT.MSC)

Thanks lot Doug. I read that command but didn't try and
finally I had to try that.

How do I find all these command that are not in the book
and you know even you don't need some command in your
every day life but there are lots of command out there.

Some of these aren't well documented, others are. Try a search on
www.google.com for "undocumented windows xp commands" or a similar search.

I have two machines with XP.
Why other one has same dialog box that you can see after
using CONTROL PASSWORD2 command and other xp has fency
user account which I can't find Advance option. It
doesn't matter if I select Classic View or Catagory view.

CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2 should work on any XP Pro machine, and get you the
older Win2K style dialog. It may not work on XP Home, but I'm not aware of
any reason it wouldn't. Also, you have to make sure you use
USERPASSWORDS2. If you leave off the 2, it calls up the regular user's
applet.
